Basketball Recap: Creekside Seminoles vs. Villa Rica Wildcats

The Creekside Seminoles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their 16th straight defeat. They took a 70-55 bruising from Villa Rica. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.

Creekside lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Tim Gaulden, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and two blocks. It was the first time this season that Gaulden posted two or more blocks. Ahmare Mckenzie was another key contributor, scoring four points along with 15 rebounds and two steals.

Creekside's loss was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-20. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.5 points per game. As for Villa Rica, their win ended a eight-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-14.

Creekside will take on the Jaguars at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Jackson presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Seminoles in Georgia (the Jaguars are ranked 33rd, while the Seminoles are ranked 425th). As for Villa Rica, they will head out on the road to face off against the Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. Tri-Cities will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
