Softball Recap: North Putnam Cougars vs. Cloverdale Clovers
There's no place like home for North Putnam, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They blew past the Cloverdale Clovers 8-1 on Thursday. That's more bragging rights for the Cougars, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Tori Detro was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 15 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Mack Mason was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Delaney Seaborne, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one RBI.
North Putnam kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cloverdale only managed five hits.
North Putnam's record now sits at 8-5. As for Cloverdale, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-10.
North Putnam has already played their next match (against Crawfordsville), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Cloverdale will be paying especially close attention to the Cougars' contest: after the Cougars face off against the Athenians, they'll take on Cloverdale again at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
