League recap: Whitehead throws longest pass in league this season for St. Mark's

Zachary Whitehead and Mike Adams provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Delaware Military Academy. The longest such play in Freelance this season, the connection resulted in 74 yards.

Delaware Military Academy was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after falling to St. Mark's. Joe Aviola's team came in at 25 in the state poll after placing at number 26 last week.

Brian Rogers threw for 182 yards and 2 touchdowns. He was 9-23 with 1 interception.

Whitehead was a passing and rushing force as the Spartans defeated Delaware Military Academy. He completed 9 passes for 187 yards and 1 touchdown and also ran for 9 yards.

Taaron Brown was the most successful running back in the league this week. In 8 carries, he ran for 129 yards as St. Mark's lost to Caravel. Matt Williams also contributed to the rushing game with 52 yards on the ground.

6-foot-3 quarterback Rogers of the Auks is the league leader in passing yards this season with 510. He has also thrown 4 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Joey Carrow. The St. Elizabeth star has 16 catches for 264 yards.

The Buccaneers are currently in fourth, while St. Elizabeth is in seventh.

Conrad Science was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from seventh to fifth in the league. Earlier in the week, the Redskins triumphed over St. Andrew's 29-28.
