Basketball Recap: University Lab Drops Season-High Score on Port Allen

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask University Lab). They were the clear victor by a 79-59 margin over the Port Allen Pelicans on Friday. Given the Cubs' advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 37th, while the Pelicans are ranked 166th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

University Lab is also on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.5 points per game. As for Port Allen, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-12.

When University Lab and Port Allen next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. University Lab will square off against St. Michael and their three-game winning streak at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. University Lab will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. Similarly, Port Allen will try to stop Capitol's four-game winning streak when the meet at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
