Football Recap: East Laurens Falcons vs. Bleckley County Royals
Friday just wasn't the day for East Laurens's offense. They were beaten by the Bleckley County Royals 40-0 on Friday. The Falcons have struggled against the Royals recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.
Even if they lost, East Laurens' defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Caleb Jackson, Raquis Stanley, and Dianco Murray, who each picked up one sack apiece.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bleckley County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brody Fleming, who threw for 312 yards and four TDs while picking up 10.8 yards per attempt. Those four passing touchdowns gave Fleming a new career-high. Bleckley County's leading receiver Joshua Stanley was Fleming's top target yet again, picking up 192 receiving yards.
East Laurens' defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Bleckley County, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Coming up, East Laurens will be playing at home against Central at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Bleckley County, they will head out on the road to face off against Southwest at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
