Baseball Recap: Mcgraw Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

McGraw waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the Brookfield Central Beavers as they made off with a 19-4 victory. The Eagles have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Beavers, too.

Blair Mulcahy and Owen Mulcahy made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Mulcahy struck out nine batters over three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit (and only one walk). Meanwhile, Owen struck out six batters over two innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). Blair has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. At the plate, Mulcahy got on base in all five of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, four runs, and one double, while Owen went 2-for-5 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brennan Wilson, who went 2-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. Wilson is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Talan Rew was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

McGraw kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits every time they've taken the field this season.

McGraw's win bumped their record up to 3-1.

Looking ahead, McGraw is taking a road trip to challenge Homer at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Brookfield Central, they will take on Madison Central at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
