Morton hasn't lost a match since September 6th, a trend which continued in their latest game on Friday. While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was the Potters who were credited with the win. Given their advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 38th, while Marist are ranked 277th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Morton's one-goal win came courtesy of Cooper Smith, who's now up to three this season.

Morton is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-1-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 30 goals over those seven matches. As for Marist, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-8.

Morton didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Saint Ignatius College Prep on the 27th. As for Marist, they also wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Geneseo on the 27th.
