Recap: Silver Bluff Bulldogs vs. Fox Creek Predators
The Silver Bluff Bulldogs came tearing into Friday's match with 14 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 32.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They claimed a resounding 67-15 victory over Fox Creek at home. Silver Bluff has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 contests by 25 points or more this season.
Silver Bluff had a senior duo take command as Ahminah Taylor scored 24 points along with four steals and Krystal Johnson scored 17 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. Johnson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games she's played. Makya Bing was another key contributor, scoring five points along with eight assists and three steals.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Fox Creek struggled to work together and finished the game with only an assist. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Silver Bluff racked up 14 assists.
Silver Bluff pushed their record up to 16-1 with that win, which was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.7 points per game. As for Fox Creek, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-14.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Silver Bluff will challenge Batesburg-Leesville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Batesburg-Leesville will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 265th, while Silver Bluff is ranked 61st). As for Fox Creek, they will head out on the road to face off against Pelion at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pelion is coming into the matchup on a five-game losing streak.
