Softball Recap: Melba Takes a Loss

After flying high against American Falls on Saturday, Melba came back down to earth. The Mustangs fell just short of the New Plymouth Pilgrims by a score of 8-7 on Monday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pilgrims this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 6-2 two weeks ago.

Elle Crimbchin and Analyse Durham did some serious damage despite the final result: Crimbchin went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI, while Durham went 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.

Melba has also been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season. As for New Plymouth, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-7.

Coincidentally, Melba and New Plymouth will both be playing Parma the next time they take the field. The Pilgrims will host the Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Mustangs will head out to face them at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
