Baseball Game Preview: White River Hornets vs. Kentlake Falcons

For the second straight game, White River will face off against Kentlake. The Hornets will welcome the Falcons at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (White River 3.9, Kentlake 2.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Kentlake will be up against a hot White River squad: the team just extended their winning streak to four. The Hornets' pitcher stepped up to hand the Falcons a 3-0 shutout on Monday. Give the Hornets' pitching crew some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

Not much got past Kolton Jensen, who gave up just four hits to keep Kentlake off the board. Jensen also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because White River is 7-3 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 3-7 otherwise.

On the hitting side, White River saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jaxson Whiting, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. That's the most hits Whiting has posted since back in March.

White River pushed their record up to 10-10 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Kentlake, their loss dropped their record down to 12-7-1.
