Softball Recap: Capital Comes Up Short in High-Profile Game with Mountain View

Capital faced Mountain View in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Golden Eagles came up short against the Mavericks, falling 8-1. The Golden Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mavericks apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

McKenna Chavez made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run and one double.

This is the second loss in a row for Capital and nudges their season record down to 12-9. As for Mountain View, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-5.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Capital will face off against rival Eagle at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Mountain View is set to challenge their familiar foe Rocky Mountain at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
