Basketball Game Preview: Morton Panthers vs. Sumrall Bobcats

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Panthers challenge the Bobcats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Morton is coming into the contest hot, having won their last 14 games.

Morton is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They claimed a resounding 55-14 win over Pass Christian. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matchups by 24 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Sumrall was able to grind out a solid victory over Richland on Monday, taking the game 60-49. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bobcats.

Morton better keep an eye on Ella Robertson. She was instrumental in Sumrall's win, putting up 27 points in addition to six assists and six boards. Robertson's evening made it 11 games in a row in which she has scored at least 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jori Glass, who posted eight points and five rebounds.

Sumrall's win bumped their record up to 18-15. As for Morton, their victory bumped their record up to 23-5.
