Baseball Game Preview: Abbeville Wildcats vs. Centerville Bulldogs

The Abbeville Wildcats will head out on the road to square off against the Centerville Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Abbeville has given up an average of 12.5 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

It was a proper cat-fight when Abbeville took on Marksville on Wednesday. The Wildcats lost 15-5 to the Tigers.

Abbeville saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ryan Thibodeaux, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Centerville hadn't done well against A.J. Ellender recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Bulldogs skirted past the Patriots 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bulldogs have posted since February 21st.

Abbeville has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 12 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season. As for Centerville, their record now sits at 12-4.

Abbeville suffered a grim 18-0 defeat to Centerville when the teams last played back in February. Can the Wildcats avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
