Football Recap: Mannford Takes a Loss

Mannford came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They were outmatched by the Lone Grove Longhorns and fell 41-0. The game marked the first time this year in which the Pirates were not able to get on the board.

Mannford didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Kayden Leslie and Hagen Anderson.

Mannford's loss dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Lone Grove, they pushed their record up to 3-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mannford will welcome Victory Christian at 7:00 p.m. on the 24th. The Pirates will be up against the Conquerors' rather soft defense (which has allowed 49.43 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Lone Grove, they will be playing at home against Perkins-Tryon at 7:00 p.m. on the 24th. The Longhorns will need to watch out since the Demons have now posted at least 31 points in their last three matchups.
