Game recap: Tampa Catholic High School Football Team takes down Berkeley Prep

TAMPA, Fla. - Tampa Catholic (Tampa, Fla.) extended its winning streak to six games with a 17-7 victory over Berkeley Prep (Tampa, Fla.) on Saturday.

After taking the lead on a TJ Harrell touchdown run in the second quarter, the Crusaders were up 7-0 at the half.

Tampa Catholic expanded its lead to 10 points entering the fourth quarter. TC's lone score in the quarter came on a field goal by Michael Sarafianos.

Berkeley Prep's only touchdown came on an 8-yard pass from Brad Mayes to Jacob Mathis in the fourth quarter.

The Crusaders had given up an average of 12.0 points prior to the contest. Berkeley Prep's seven points were well below their season average of 18.4 per game.



A 33-7 Tampa Catholic victory was the result when the squads faced off last season.

The loss was the fourth in a row for Berkeley Prep.

Berkeley Prep (2-4) goes up against Bishop McLaughlin Catholic in a 3A District 4 game matchup next week, while Tampa Catholic (6-1) locks horns with Lakeland Christian also in a 3A District 4 game.
