Basketball Game Preview: Tyee Titans vs. Decatur Golden Gators

Tyee is 0-3 against Decatur since January of 2015 but things could change on Wednesday. The Tyee Titans are taking a road trip to challenge the Decatur Golden Gators at 7:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Tyee is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Granite Falls on Monday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Tyee was dealt a 72-34 defeat at the hands of Granite Falls. The Titans were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-21.

Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Decatur's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell 69-56 to Beamer. While losing is never fun, the Golden Gators can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 217th, while the Titans are ranked 105th).

Decatur's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Tyee, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-10.

Tyee was taken down by Decatur 92-35 when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Can Tyee avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
