Mound City has gone 3-0 against DeKalb recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Mound City Panthers take on the DeKalb Tigers at 7:30 p.m. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Last Wednesday, Mound City came up short against North Andrew and fell 52-40. The Panthers have struggled against the Cardinals recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, DeKalb was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were outmatched by Maysville and fell 69-9. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 567th, while the Wolverines are ranked 153rd).

DeKalb's defeat dropped their record down to 1-17. As for Mound City, their loss dropped their record down to 7-15.

Everything came up roses for Mound City against DeKalb in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, as the squad secured a 61-23 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mound City since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
