Basketball Recap: Lytle Now 9-1 over Last Ten Games

If Jourdanton wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Lytle, they should've done a better job of containing Chase Guevara. The Lytle Pirates snuck past the Jourdanton Indians/Squaws with a 79-73 victory on Tuesday thanks in part to Guevara, who went 10 of 20 on his way to 33 points along with five rebounds and five steals. His evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

Lytle has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-9 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 85.4 points per game. As for Jourdanton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 15-12 record this season.

Lytle will venture away from home to challenge Dilley at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Lytle is facing Dilley at the right time seeing as Dilley is stuck on a 21-game losing streak. As for Jourdanton, they will host Hondo at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Hondo's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 11 contests.
