Softball Recap: Chino Valley Cougars vs. ALA - West Foothills Guardians
Chino Valley had lost three straight on the road, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 12-10 to make it four. They fell just short of the ALA - West Foothills Guardians by a score of 9-8. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Guardians this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-1 back in March.
Maleah Garcia and Rebecca Sanders did some serious damage despite the final result: Garcia went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double, while Sanders went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run. Kira Seets was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
As for ALA - West Foothills, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 14 runs.
