Softball Recap: Mabel-Canton Continues Road Dominance on Tuesday

Mabel-Canton had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 11-run drubbing they dealt Lyle/Pacelli on Tuesday. The Cougars never let the Athletics get on the board and left with an 11-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Athletics: they've now won nine in a row.

Mabel-Canton got a big performance out of Kira Snyder, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and two doubles. That's the most hits Snyder has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Lydia Vatland, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI and one double.

Mabel-Canton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Mabel-Canton pushed their record up to 7-3 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.7 runs over those games. As for Lyle/Pacelli, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Mabel-Canton beat the Athletics by a score of 23-5 later that day.
