Football Recap: Howells-Dodge Piles Up the Points Against Riverside

Howells-Dodge put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed past the Riverside Chargers to the tune of 64-6. Considering the Jaguars have won four matchups by more than 23 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Hunter Luther continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 203 yards and four TDs on only 12 carries. Luther is crushing it when it comes to rushing touchdowns: he's punched in at least two every time he's taken the field this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Brester, who rushed for 117 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Howells-Dodge was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 412 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in September of 2024.

Howells-Dodge's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece.

Howells-Dodge's record now sits at 6-0. As for Riverside, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Looking ahead, Howells-Dodge will look to defend their home field on Friday against Osceola at 7:00 p.m. The Jaguars will be up against the Bulldogs' rather soft defense (which has allowed 26.8 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Riverside, they will challenge Nebraska Christian at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. The Chargers will be up against the Eagles' rather soft defense (which has allowed 41.2 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
