Basketball Game Preview: Howard Huskies vs. Baldwin Braves

Howard hasn't had much luck against Baldwin recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The two teams will face off at 2:00 p.m. without much rest having both just played.

Howard is headed into Saturday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Friday. They lost 53-31 to Academy of Richmond County. The Huskies were down 43-16 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Baldwin). They breezed by Westside to the tune of 90-9 on Friday. The Braves have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 21 points or more this season.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Baldwin, bringing their record for this year to 8-3. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 24.3 points per game. As for Howard, they now have a losing record at 4-5.

Howard took a serious blow against Baldwin when the teams last played back in January of 2024, falling 76-20. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Howard was down 39-10.
