The Valley Vikings's homestand will continue as they prepare to take on the Miyamura Patriots at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Valley is likely headed into the contest with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Belen on Thursday. Valley took a 31-20 hit to the loss column at the hands of Belen. Despite 86 more yards than the Eagles, the Vikings couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

Valley might have lost, but man, Jose Jaramillo was a machine: he threw for 308 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 11.4 yards per attempt, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Gabe Gonzales was Jaramillo's top target, picking up 108 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Valley wouldn't let Belen keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force three fumbles. Valley can thank Juan Vigil and Ryan Richardson for forcing all of them. Vigil also set a new season high mark in total tackles with nine.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Miyamura). They claimed a resounding 53-3 victory over Rio Grande at home. The high-scoring effort was just what the Patriots needed considering they were shutout in their previous match.

Salid Rashid looked great while leading his team to the win, throwing for 159 yards and two touchdowns, while also punching in a touchdown on the ground.

Valley's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Miyamura, the win also got them back to even at 2-2.

Valley took their victory against Miyamura in their previous matchup back in November of 2022 by a conclusive 30-6. Will Valley repeat their success, or does Miyamura have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
