Basketball Game Preview: Crothersville Tigers vs. Christian Academy of Madison Defenders

After both having extra time off, the Crothersville Tigers and the Christian Academy of Madison Defenders will dust off their jerseys to take on one another at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Crothersville knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Christian Academy of Madison likes a good challenge.

It was a proper cat-fight when Crothersville took on Rock Creek Academy last Sunday. Crothersville lost to Rock Creek Academy at home by a 81-62 margin. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 370th, while the Lions are ranked 184th).

Despite their defeat, Crothersville saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Beau Napier, who went 6 for 13 on his way to 20 points and seven rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. The game was Napier's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of CARTER JONES, who posted 15 points.

Meanwhile, Christian Academy of Madison suffered their biggest loss since November 17, 2023 back in December of 2024. They were outmatched by Shawe Memorial and fell 63-29. The Defenders have struggled against the Hilltoppers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Crothersville now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Christian Academy of Madison, they now have a losing record at 0-1.

Crothersville didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Christian Academy of Madison when the teams last played back in January of 2024, but they still walked away with a 39-35 win. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Christian Academy of Madison's Elijah Kummer, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds. Now that he won't be playing on Thursday, will it be easier for Crothersville to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
