Soccer Recap: Ash Fork Comes Up Short

Ash Fork was the 3-1 winner over Grand Canyon when they last played one another last Friday, but their luck changed this time around. The Spartans took a 6-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Phantoms on Monday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Ash Fork's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-3-1. As for Grand Canyon, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.

Looking ahead, Ash Fork will take on Highland Prep West at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Highland Prep West's defense has only allowed 0.2 goals per game this season, so Ash Fork's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Grand Canyon, they will challenge St. Johns at 8:00 a.m. on Friday.
