Basketball Recap: Wahama Gets Big Win over Higher-Ranked Grace Christian

It may have taken double overtime to finish the job, but Wahama ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They secured a 44-40 W over Grace Christian. The win was all the more spectacular given the White Falcons' disadvantage in MaxPreps' West Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 336th, while Grace Christian are ranked 65th).

Wahama's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-2. As for Grace Christian, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wahama is headed away from home for the first time to square off against St. Marys at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. St. Marys is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 64.9 points per game this season. As for Grace Christian, they and Hoover will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played.
