Softball Recap: Carmichaels Mighty Mikes vs. Jefferson-Morgan Rockets
Carmichaels is still undefeated this season after their game against Jefferson-Morgan on Wednesday, but Jefferson-Morgan came as close as anyone has to beating them. The Mighty Mikes came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Rockets. The Mighty Mikes have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Rockets, too.
Bailey Barnyak spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on four hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.
At the plate, Carys McConnell was excellent, scoring a run while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Ke'Lani Chun also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
