Recap: Red Cloud Warriors vs. Shelton Bulldogs
The Red Cloud Warriors lost against the Shelton Bulldogs back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Red Cloud took a 52-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of Shelton. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Red Cloud in their matchups with Shelton: they've now lost eight in a row.
Several Warriors players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Adelynn Minnick, who scored 17 points. Minnick scored a full 38.6% of Red Cloud's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Josie Rust was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Red Cloud now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Shelton, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-1.
Red Cloud won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Alma at 3:00 p.m. on December 16th. Alma is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. As for Shelton, they will challenge Lawrence-Nelson at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lawrence-Nelson will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nebraska Rankings (they are ranked 249th, while Shelton is ranked 78th).
