Baseball Game Preview: Vista Panthers vs. Oceanside Pirates

For the second straight game, Vista will face off against Oceanside. The Panthers will be playing at home against the Pirates at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Vista is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.

Vista's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They blew past Oceanside 7-0.

The result came thanks to Logan Embrey's shutout, as he gave up just four hits.

On the hitting side, Isaiah Salazar was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. Tyler Lee was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs.

Vista's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-7. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Oceanside, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-15 record this season.
