Baseball Game Preview: Freehold Township Patriots vs. Neptune Scarlet Fliers

For the second straight game, Freehold Township will face off against Neptune. The Patriots will host the Scarlet Fliers at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Freehold Township has four straight victories, Neptune has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

While Freehold Township didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They were the clear victors by an 11-2 margin over Neptune on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Patriots, who have now won three games by nine runs or more so far this season.

For Neptune's part, Hunter Morgan made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3. Morgan is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Nick Bailey, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Freehold Township's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Neptune, their loss dropped their record down to 0-3.
