Baseball Recap: Southside Extends Winning Streak to Three

Southside had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They came out on top against the Carencro Bears by a score of 9-4. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 11-3 on Thursday.

Southside's win bumped their record up to 20-10-1. As for Carencro, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-21 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Southside is set to face off against their familiar foe Barbe at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Sharks 2.8, the Bucs 1.7) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Carencro will square off against rival Acadiana at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
