Recap: Penns Grove Red Devils vs. Cinnaminson Pirates
The Penns Grove Red Devils suffered their biggest loss since December 19, 2023 on Saturday. They suffered a tough 65-44 defeat at the hands of Cinnaminson. While losing is never fun, Penns Grove can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 273rd, while Cinnaminson is ranked 75th).
Penns Grove's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Giomar Conrad, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Willie Slocum, who scored nine points.
Penns Grove's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Cinnaminson, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 13-2.
Penns Grove will head out on the road to challenge Clearview at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Cinnaminson, they will be playing in front of their home fans against KIPP Cooper Norcross at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
