Softball Recap: Del Oro Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Del Oro extended their winning streak to three on Friday, bumping them up to 6-3. They walked away with a 10-7 victory over the St. Francis Troubadours. Ten seems to be a good number for the Golden Eagles as the team scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Del Oro got a great performance from Katharine Popovski as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over 4.1 innings pitched. Popovski has been consistent: she hasn't given up a single earned run in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Caelyn Campos and Kate Brown did most of the damage at the plate: Campos went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two doubles, and one run, while Brown went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs Brown has posted since back in March of 2025. Avery Enyart also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Del Oro kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive games.

As for St. Francis, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-7. That's two games in a row now that they have lost by exactly three runs.

On St. Francis' side, Isabella Barge and Marissa Jensen did some serious damage despite the final result: Barge went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double, while Jensen went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double. Another player making a difference was Jocelyn Villaflor, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Del Oro is set to take on their familiar foe Granite Bay at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, St. Francis will square off against rival Oak Ridge at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
