Baseball Recap: Malvern Wins Going Away Against Aquinas

Malvern lost to Aquinas last Friday, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Friday. The Hornets were the clear victors by a 9-2 margin over the Knights. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Hornets.

Darnell Jackson was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Malvern is 2-1 when Jackson posts two or more stolen bases, but 7-13 otherwise. Owen Warth was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

Malvern hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in three consecutive matches.

Malvern's win bumped their record up to 9-14. As for Aquinas, they dropped their record down to 2-12 with the loss, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

Malvern didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 10-3 defeat against Monroe Central on the 19th. As for Aquinas, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 14-4 loss against Canton Central Catholic on the 17th.
