Basketball Game Preview: Charlestown Pirates vs. Madison Cubs

The Charlestown Pirates will take on the Madison Cubs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Charlestown is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Seymour just ended the team's seven-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 43-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Owls.

Meanwhile, Madison didn't have too much trouble with Trinity Lutheran on Thursday as they won 61-45.

Madison has also been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.4 points per game. As for Charlestown, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-7.

Charlestown didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Madison in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, but they still walked away with a 55-49 win. Will Charlestown repeat their success, or does Madison have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
