Recap: New Castle Trojans vs. Hamilton Heights Huskies
The New Castle Trojans won the last time they faced the Hamilton Heights Huskies, and things went their way on Friday too. New Castle enjoyed a cozy 51-37 win over Hamilton Heights.
Among those leading the charge was Landon Thompson, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 10 rebounds. The match was his third in a row with at least ten points. Colin Taylor was another key contributor, scoring 7 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals.
Several Huskies players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tillman Etchison, who scored 15 points along with 6 rebounds. Etchison scored a full 40.5% of Hamilton Heights' points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dreydin Serna, who scored 9 points.
Even though they lost, Hamilton Heights were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as New Castle only pulled down eight.
New Castle now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Hamilton Heights, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
New Castle will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Anderson at 7:30 p.m. Anderson is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games. As for Hamilton Heights, they will head out on the road to face off against Guerin Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Guerin Catholic focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Wednesday.
