Volleyball Recap: Bear River Bears vs. North Fremont Huskies

Bear River was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 17th straight defeat. They fell just short of the North Fremont Huskies by a score of 2-1. While the Bears didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Huskies 25-12 in the first set.

Bear River actually scored more points across those three sets (59-52), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 12-25, 25-21, 15-13.

When it comes to explaining why Bear River lost, don't look at Makell Garn. Despite the final result, she had six kills and five digs. Garn is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had five or more in the last three games she's played dating back to last season.

Bear River's loss dropped their record down to 1-19. As for North Fremont, the victory got them back to even at 9-9.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Salmon the next time they take the court. North Fremont will head out to face Salmon at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, while Bear River will play them later in the day, at 4:00 p.m.
