Recap: Summit Academy Bears vs. Viewmont Vikings
The Summit Academy Bears's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They fell 79-68 to Viewmont. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Several Bears players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Lance Green, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. Green set a new season high mark in steals with four. Colbyn Draper was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with three steals.
Leading Viewmont to victory were Cache Tuia and Max Draper. Tuia scored 18 points, while Draper scored 23 points along with eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Daren Tovey, who scored seven points along with five rebounds.
Summit Academy's loss was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 2-5. As for Viewmont, their victory bumped their record up to 1-2.
Summit Academy will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Granger at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Granger focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Wednesday. As for Viewmont, they will take on Fremont at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. Fremont is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 63.2 points per game.
