Volleyball Recap: Cozad Takes a Loss

Cozad was the 3-2 winner over St. Patrick when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Haymakers took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Irish on Thursday. While the Haymakers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Irish 25-21 in the first set.

Cozad started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 21-25, 25-23, 25-17, 27-25.

Cozad's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for St. Patrick's, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 4-8 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cozad will welcome Ogallala at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for St. Patrick's, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Brady on Thursday.
