Baseball Recap: North Summit Takes a Loss

North Summit extended their losing streak to 12 on Saturday, dropping their season record down to 1-16 in the process. They lost 20-8 to the San Juan Broncos. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Broncos this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-1 on Saturday.

As for San Juan, their victory was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-4. The result was nothing new for the Broncos, who have now won ten contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

For San Juan's part, Branten Bethea and Talon Mendoza did most of the damage at the plate: Bethea went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one double, while Mendoza went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one double. Another player making a difference was Cooper Palmer, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. North Summit will square off against rival North Sevier at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, San Juan is set to take on their familiar foe Duchesne at 2:00 p.m. on Monday.
