Softball Game Preview: Lake Nona Lions vs. Colonial Grenadiers

Lake Nona is a perfect 10-0 against Colonial since February of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Lions will take on the Grenadiers at 6:00 p.m. Colonial took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Lake Nona, who comes in off a win.

On Monday, Lake Nona narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Innovation 11-10.

Lake Nona got a massive performance out of Campbell Walker, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with four runs and two stolen bases. Those four runs gave Walker a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Valeria Rivera, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

Lyman hit Colonial with a seven-run first inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Grenadiers lost 12-2 to the Greyhounds. The Grenadiers' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

The victory got Lake Nona back to even at 6-6. As for Colonial, their loss dropped their record down to 6-13.

Everything went Lake Nona's way against Colonial in their previous meeting on April 1st, as Lake Nona made off with a 15-6 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lions since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
