Soccer Game Preview: South Point vs. Ardrey Kell

Ardrey Kell will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: South Point extended their winning streak to 12 on Friday. The Red Raiders' defense stepped up to hand Huss a 9-0 shutout. Give South Point's defense some credit: that's the team's sixth straight shutout.

Meanwhile, Ardrey Kell entered their tilt with Olympic on Thursday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They put the hurt on the Trojans with a sharp 9-0 win. Given Ardrey Kell's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 15th, while Olympic are ranked 377th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Ardrey Kell's offense was hitting Olympic from everywhere, as seven different players booted in a goal. Rhyan Winnek led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

South Point's victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-2-2. Those road wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 52 goals over those seven games. As for Ardrey Kell, their victory bumped their record up to 15-3-4.
