Recap: Albion Purple Eagles vs. Newfane Panthers
This season hasn't been kind to the Albion Purple Eagles, who are still winless after their sixth match. They were the victim of a tough 55-34 loss at the hands of Newfane on Tuesday. Albion has not had much luck with Newfane recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
It was another big night for Ben Dickinson, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds for Newfane. Dickinson hasn't dropped below two steals for seven straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Braman, who scored nine points along with 11 rebounds and five steals.
Albion's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Newfane, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 12-1.
Albion will look to defend their home court on Friday against Spencerport at 7:15 p.m. As for Newfane, they will head out on the road to square off against Barker at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Barker will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New York Rankings (they are ranked 643rd, while Newfane is ranked 179th).
