Basketball Recap: Passaic Arts & Science Charter Takes a Loss

Passaic Arts & Science Charter was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were dealt a 62-11 loss at the hands of the American History Eagles. Passaic Arts & Science Charter was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-3.

American History was led to victory by Erica Lawson and Shamiyah Mubarak. Lawson dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten steals, while Mubarak posted 16 points along with five boards and four steals. That's the most boards Mubarak has posted since back in December of 2023. Dominique Jackson was another key player, putting up 12 points and six rebounds.

Passaic Arts & Science Charter's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for American History, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.

Passaic Arts & Science Charter and Hawthorne will round out the year against one another at at 11:30 a.m. on Friday. As for American History, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 59-44 victory against West Side on the 21st.
