Softball Recap: Dexter Finds Home Field Redemption Against Foxcroft Academy

There's no place like home for Dexter, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They skirted past the Foxcroft Academy Ponies 4-3. The Tigers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Ponies on Wednesday, too.

Claire Fogler spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on six hits and racked up 11 Ks. Those 11 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

On the hitting side, Desiree Adams was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. Another player making a difference was Alex Hayden, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run.

Dexter is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Foxcroft Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.

Dexter will be playing in front of their home fans against Searsport at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Vikings have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 18.38 runs per game on average), something the Tigers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Foxcroft Academy, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Orono at 4:30 p.m.
