Volleyball Recap: Lea Scott Key Part of Team Effort in Mustangs Win

It looked like the Kentucky Derby when Shadow Ridge faced off against Vista Murrieta on Saturday. The Mustangs came out on top against the Broncos by a score of 2-0. For the Mustangs, this counts as revenge for the 2-1 win the Broncos walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2023.

Shadow Ridge's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lea Scott, who had 14 assists and nine digs. That's the most digs Scott has posted over her last six contests. Sophie Finlinson was another key player, getting five digs and two aces.

The win made it two in a row for Shadow Ridge and bumps their season record up to 18-11. As for Vista Murrieta, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season.

Shadow Ridge didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Centennial on the 20th. As for Vista Murrieta, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-1 defeat against Ironwood Ridge on the 20th.
