Football Game Preview: Ridgevue Warhawks vs. Skyview Hawks

Ridgevue hasn't had much luck against Skyview recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Warhawks will square off against the Hawks at 7:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Ridgevue is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Bishop Kelly on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Warhawks had to suffer through a 46-13 loss at the hands of the Knights. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Warhawks have suffered since October 25, 2024.

Although Ridgevue took the loss, they still got scores from Braden Wagoner and Jarom Walker.

While Ridgevue came up short, they sure didn't make it easy for Bishop Kelly: they limited their QB to completion percentage of just 45%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from two players: Dominic Zora and Dante Brinegar, who each logged two passes deflected. Ridgevue hasn't an opponent to post a completion percentage of 0.56 or higher in four consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Skyview was beaten by Bonneville 49-20 on Friday.

Ridgevue will have to contain Trevan Plew as he made an impact in Skyview's last game. He rushed for 92 yards and three touchdowns, and also threw for 332 yards on 27 of 42 attempts.

Ridgevue suffered their first road defeat, dropping their record down to 6-2. As for Skyview, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.

Ridgevue suffered a grim 21-0 defeat to Skyview when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Can the Warhawks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
