Volleyball Recap: Santa Maria Comes Up Short

Santa Maria came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Atascadero Greyhounds, falling 3-0. If the Saints were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the Greyhounds when the teams met back in September of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

The match finished with set scores of 25-5, 25-15, 25-11.

Santa Maria dropped their record down to 2-2 with the loss, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Santa Maria will take on Coast Union at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Atascadero, they have already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Laguna Blanca on the 23rd.
