Softball Game Preview: Covington Buccaneers vs. Botkins Trojans

The Covington Buccaneers will square off against the Botkins Trojans at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Friday as neither Covington nor Troy made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Buccaneers fell just short of the Trojans by a score of 3-2. The Buccaneers' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Covington saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emalyn Johnson, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Botkins' offense. They fell just short of Houston by a score of 1-0 on Friday.

Covington's defeat dropped their record down to 21-6. As for Botkins, their loss dropped their record down to 14-10.
