Soccer Game Preview: Brookville vs. Amherst County

The Brookville Bees will head out on the road to square off against the Amherst County Lancers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Brookville's offense. They lost 3-0 to Glass on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Brookville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 167th, while Glass are ranked 49th).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Amherst County). They were the clear victors by a 7-0 margin over Heritage on Tuesday. Amherst County haven't had any issues with Heritage recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Amherst County's win bumped their record up to 6-7. As for Brookville, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-6-1 record this season.

Brookville took their victory against Amherst County in their previous meeting back in April by a conclusive 4-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bees since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
